We believe thriving children create thriving communities. To that end, we focus on a community-wide response to childhood trauma that combines excellence in treatment, state-of-the-art education, and community oriented prevention initiatives aimed at reducing the incidence and impact of child maltreatment and promoting the safe and healthy development of children.

We regret that due to the weather forecast for the Ancaster area, the 2014 CAPPY Ride on Sunday, July 13th is cancelled.

Riders who have collected pledges: please forward pledge total by mail to the Community Child Abuse Council (please don't send cash in the mail) or contact us to make other arrangements: 905-523-1020 ext. 210.

We sincerely appreciate the support of all the riders and volunteers who planned to come out for the event, and we are disappointed to miss out on what is always a great day with a wonderful gathering of caring and supportive people. This annual event is also our single largest fundraising initiative each year, generating significant financial support for our programs and services. Those who would still like to support the Community Child Abuse Council are encouraged to make a donation (online here - at right, or by mail). By investing in the treatment needed when children and youth face the trauma of abuse, you can help to turn young lives around. All donations go directly to programs and services for children and youth who have been sexually victimized, who exhibit concerning sexualized behaviour (including intrafamilial abuse), or are refugee or immigrant children and youth who have experienced significant trauma.

Please check the CAPPY Ride web site for news and information about the 2015 CAPPY Ride: www.cappyride.ca.
