Charity Bulldogs Game

IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY CHILD ABUSE COUNCIL
DECEMBER 28/09: 7:30 p.m. Copps Coliseum, Hamilton
Don’t miss the Bulldog’s Charity game in support of the Child Abuse Council on December 28/09! Cheer on our own Hamilton’s Bulldogs hockey team as they play against the Toronto Marlies and at the same time you’ll be helping to ensure sexually abused children in our community have and get the help they need.
Proceeds from special ticket sales and a 50/50 draw to be held on game night will go to support the Child Abuse Council’s child and youth trauma services. Tickets make great Christmas gifts too! Fun for the whole family!
Tickets are only $15 each - that’s $10 off the regular price of an adult ticket! These specially priced tickets are available only through the Community Child Abuse Council.
Sexual abuse affects boys and girls of all ages from infancy through adolescence. It affects millions of children across all social, ethnic, religious, and cultural groups around the world - and hundreds right here in our own community. We know that sexual abuse trauma can have long term serious consequences on the physical, mental and emotional health of children and families, can impair achievement in children and even continue to negatively affect them in their adulthood. Children and adolescents are more likely than adults to suffer a sexual assault and sexual offenders are typically persons known and trusted by the children they victimize.
Business is booming and that’s not good in our industry. Right now sexually abused children - some as young as 3 years old - are waiting for treatment. The demand for our services is higher than we have the capacity to meet. Other children who come to us have suffered sexual abuse over a period of years before it’s been disclosed - often at the hands of more than one person.
Sexual abuse can be life eroding. We can help change that. We can tell you success stories about how kids once at risk of harming themselves or failing badly in school or suffering deep depression and anxiety for example, become strong and hopeful about the future; become straight A students; feel more confident and worthy. But we can only make this happen with your help.
Purchase a ticket for yourself, buy them as gifts, come out to the game on December 28 and get in on the 50/50 draw. Proceeds go to support the Council’s prevention, education and specialized treatment programs. It’ll be one of the best investments you make this year!
Thank you for your support and season’s greetings!
