We have a new home! And some of our closes friends and supporters stopped in recently to help us "officially" move in. Our new space is a welcoming and accessible place located on a major bus route and boasting five treatment rooms (2 more than we previously had). Our young clients and their families tell us it's a comfortable place and already it feels familiar to our staff and clinical team.
We were honoured to have special guest Ziauddin Yousafzai speak to those in attendance, encouraging us to continue our work on behalf of children and youth and our vision for a thriving community. In recognition of his global work supporting education and children's rights, the Council inducted him as an Honourary Leader for Kids. Mr. Yousafzai, the father of Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, then joined with MPs David Sweet and David Christopherson, Board Chair David Hoy, and Executive Director Karen Smith for the ribbon cutting. Guests then toured the new space and met members of the Council's staff and clinical team. In all, a wonderful start to our journey at the new site.
